Nigerian singer Jaywon was arrested on Monday, May 4th by the policemen attached to the Dolphin Estate Division of the Lagos State Police Command, for violating the COVID-19 order given by President Muhammadu Buhari.
It earlier recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had declared an overnight nationwide curfew on the April 27, in a bid to check the spread of Coronavirus. The curfew began on May 4 and will run from 8 pm to 6 am daily.
Jaywon was arrested and taken into custody by 11 pm on Monday while driving to an unknown location.
Jaywon whose statement was taken at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, was charged before a mobile court on Tuesday, May 5. He pleaded guilty to the charges levelled against him and was ordered to pay a fine of N10,000. He was also ordered to do community service for 30minutes.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident he said Jaywon was among the 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and refused to use face masks , and 79 vehicles were also impounded for violating the curfew.
